24 Va. Admin. Code § 20-121-150 - General equipment requirements
A. Each school shall provide all necessary
equipment and materials required for classroom and in-vehicle instruction,
including motor vehicles that are in safe mechanical condition and that are
properly registered and insured. Except as otherwise provided in
22VAC20-121-220, no motor vehicle may be used for driver training purposes
unless it is owned or leased in the name of the licensed school or the school
owner as indicated on the application for the school license.
B. Each vehicle shall also carry minimum
safety equipment as determined by the department, while they are used for
training students. Such equipment shall be readily available and maintained in
a safe, workable and organized manner, and shall include, but not be limited to
reflective triangles, flares, first aid kit, flashlight, fire extinguisher,
jumper cables or a battery charger, towel, blanket, and a safety
vest.
