Wash. Admin. Code § 16-403-094 - Washington C grade standards for green or yellow varieties
The requirements for Washington C grade green or yellow variety apples include the conditions for Washington fancy grade apples under WAC 16-403-054. In addition, apples of this grade must be free from excessive damage caused by russeting as defined under the definitions of "damage by russeting," in WAC 16-403-164(2) under the following conditions:
(1) The aggregate area of an apple which is
covered by smooth net-like russeting may not exceed twenty-five
percent.
(2) The aggregate area of
an apple which is covered by smooth solid russeting may not exceed ten percent
except as follows:
(a) The aggregate area for
Newtown, Granny Smith or similar varieties which is covered with smooth solid
russeting may not exceed twenty percent; and
(b) The aggregate area of an apple which is
covered with excessively rough or bark-like russeting or limb rubs may not
exceed the area of a circle three-fourths inch in diameter.
(3) There is no requirement in
this grade pertaining to invisible water core.
