Wash. Admin. Code § 204-21-100 - Auxiliary passing lamps
Auxiliary passing lamps must:
(1) Meet SAE Standard J582a.
(2) Be white to amber in color.
(3) Be mounted in accordance with
RCW
46.37.180 and so the inner edge of the lens
retaining ring is no closer than four inches to the optical center of the front
turn signal lamp.
(4) Be aimed with
the top edge of the high intensity zone one inch above the level of the lamp
center and with the left edge of the high intensity zone five inches to the
left of a vertical line straight ahead of the lamp center.
(5) Not be used alone in lieu of headlamps,
but may be used at the driver's discretion with either low or high beam
headlamps as specified in
RCW
46.37.220.
