Wash. Admin. Code § 296-305-01511 - Employee's responsibility
(1)
Firefighters must cooperate with the employer and other employees in efforts to
eliminate accidents.
(2) Each
firefighter or other employee must comply with the provisions of this chapter
which are applicable to their own actions and conduct in the course of their
employment.
(3) Firefighters and
other employees must notify the appropriate employer representative of unsafe
work practices and of unsafe conditions of equipment, apparatus, or work
places.
(4) Firefighters and other
employees must apply the principles of accident prevention in their work. They
must use all required safety devices, protective equipment, and safety
practices, as provided and/or developed by management.
(5) Each firefighter must take proper care of
all personal protective equipment.
(6) Firefighters must attend, when on duty,
required training and/or orientation programs designed to increase their
competency in occupational safety and health.
(7) Firefighters who are under the influence
of alcohol or drugs must not participate in any fire department operations or
other functions. This rule does not apply to persons taking prescription drugs
as directed by a physician or dentist providing such use does not endanger the
worker or others.
