Wash. Admin. Code § 296-806-45010 - Restrain extended workpieces on horizontal lathes
You must safeguard employees from the hazards of work pieces that extend beyond the edges of the horizontal lathe by:
(1) Restraining work pieces as needed to
prevent whipping; and
(2) Isolating
work pieces with an awareness barrier, fixed or movable guard, or
railing.
