Wash. Admin. Code § 296-807-14035 - Use air tools safely
This section does not apply to:
1. Tools specifically for medical or dental
use;
2. Tools specifically for use
in the food processing industry;
3.
Tools mounted in stationary installations;
4. Air hoists;
5. Construction and mining tools such as
paving breakers, diggers, tampers, and rock drills.
(1) You must relieve the pressure in the air
line before disconnecting a compressed air tool from the line or disconnecting
a hose joint unless there is automatic valve closing protection at the joint
being separated.
(2) You must
disconnect the tool from the compressed air supply before repairs are
done.
(3) You must make sure that
eye protection is worn at all times by:
(a)
The person operating the tool;
(b)
Other persons in the area where tools are being used.
