Wash. Admin. Code § 296-863-40040 - Meet these requirements when using dock-boards (bridge plates)
(1) You must make
sure dock-boards are not overloaded:
(a) Make
sure they are strong enough to carry the load imposed on them.
(b) Make sure loads do not exceed the
dock-board's rated capacity.
(2) You must do the following when using
dock-boards:
(a) Drive slowly and carefully
over dock-boards;
(b) Properly
secure dock-boards before driving on them.
(3) You must make sure powered dock-boards
meet the design and construction requirements of U.S. Department of Commerce
Commercial Standard CS 202-56 (1961) "Industrial Lifts and Hinged Loading
Ramps."
(4) You must do the
following when using portable dock-boards:
(a)
Use anchors or other devices that will prevent slipping;
(b) Make sure they have handholds or other
effective means for safe handling.
