Wash. Admin. Code § 308-330-275 - Traffic safety commission - Powers and duties
(1) There is established a traffic safety
commission to serve without compensation, consisting of the traffic engineer,
the chief of police, or, in his/her discretion as his/her representative, the
chief of the traffic division or other cognizant member of the police
department, one representative each from the engineer's office and the
attorney's office, and such number of other officers of the local authority and
representatives of unofficial bodies as may be determined and appointed by the
appointing authority of the local authority. The chair of the commission shall
be appointed by such appointing authority and may be removed by such
authority.
(2) It shall be the duty
of the traffic safety commission, and to this end it shall have authority
within the limits of the funds at its disposal, to coordinate traffic
activities, to supervise the preparation and publication of traffic reports, to
receive complaints having to do with traffic matters, and to recommend to the
legislative body of the local authority and to the traffic engineer, the chief
of the traffic division, and other officials, ways and means for improving
traffic conditions and the administration and enforcement of traffic
regulations.
