“(a) General Effective Date.—Except as provided in subsection (b), this Act and the amendments made by this Act [enacting this section, amending section
1129 of this title, enacting provisions set out as a note under section
101 of this title, and amending and repealing provisions set out as notes under section
1106 of this title] shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act [June 16, 1988].
“(b) Application of Amendments.—The amendments made by section
2 [enacting this section and amending section
1129 of this title] shall not apply with respect to cases commenced under title 11 of the United States Code before the date of the enactment of this Act [June 16, 1988].”
