Section, Pub. L. 102–166, title III, § 303, formerly § 320,Nov. 21, 1991, 105 Stat. 1096; renumbered § 303 and amended Pub. L. 104–1, title V, § 504(a)(3), (4),Jan. 23, 1995, 109 Stat. 41, provided protection from discriminatory practices with respect to employment of Presidential appointees.

Effective Date of Repeal
Section 5(b) ofPub. L. 104–331provided that: “This section [repealing this section and enacting provisions set out as a note below] shall take effect on October 1, 1997.”
Savings Provision
Section 5(c) ofPub. L. 104–331provided that: “The repeal under this section [repealing this section] shall not affect proceedings under such section
303 in which a complaint was filed before the effective date of this section [Oct. 1, 1997], and orders shall be issued in such proceedings and appeals shall be taken therefrom as if this section had not been enacted.”
