corroborate

Corroborate means to confirm and make more certain the substantiating testimony of a witness or a party at a trial. It is best understood in the context of supporting evidence. Cases such as Andrews v. State, 370 So. 2d 320 (1979), explain that “corroborate means to strengthen, to make stronger; not the proof of any particular fact to which the witness has testified, but to strengthen the probative, criminating force of his testimony.”
