and my interest in IP stems from its connection to my first career of
ten years in the broadcasting of sports television, and secondarily to
my long interest in the world of science,(I am a critical care nurse)
which may be more linked to patent law than copyrights, but the connection
is there. I am very busy this semester with trying to balance personal
commitments and trying to keep full steam ahead in law school. By that
I mean that I am having a baby this Thursday, my first at age 45, and
attempting to keep up with this course, trial ad 2, con law and forensic
evidence. Wish me luck! I already have a great partner, so the rest will
just be luck and the ability to survive prolonged sleep deprivation and
still read a lot! I am also the TA for Justice this semester, which entails
teaching philosophical discourse to those who would rather die, I think,
than be forced to learn it. Oh, well. It will be a test of character for
all involved.

Permissions Editor at McDougal-Littell publishing. I work with authors,

law, how it interacts with the 'Net, both with original Web content and
copies of existing authorship, and an overall curiosity about the subject

too enticing to resist. I'm looking forward to learning with all of you.

at Vermont Law School. I originally came here for Environmental Law but
last spring semester I took IP Law and knew exactly what I wanted to practice.
I enjoy all aspects of IP, especially areas dealing with Trademarks. I
think this is a fascinating way to take Copyright Law (or any course for
that matter) and it really makes for a wide variety of thoughts and discussions.
I also know that many IP issues fall under the umbrella of business law,
so I have taken a lot of business law courses. I have a Bachelor of Science
from Michigan State in Environmental Science, with an emphasis in the
core science curriculum, so I will be taking the Patent Bar in the spring.
Wish me luck.

law and work for the government to help form consistent policy across
the various fields of property law. Whether I can do that or not, I think
the next decade will be an exciting time to participate in the development
of this changing field.
- Willbanks, Stephanie
- Greetings! I am Stephanie Willbanks, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
at Vermont Law School. This is the beginning of my 20th year here in South

fair use? When does a faculty member need to obtain permission to copy
and circulate materials to her students? What about showing a movie, or
a clip from a movie, in class? Stephanie J. Willbanks Associate Dean and
Professor
