§ 228.23 Criminal penalty.
Any person who knowingly and willfully falsifies a report or record required to be kept under this part or otherwise knowingly and willfully violates any requirement of this part may be liable for criminal penalties of a fine up to $5,000, imprisonment for up to two years, or both, in accordance with 49 U.S.C. 21311(a).

      Notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM).
      Comments: Written comments must be received by October 23, 2015. Comments received after that date will be considered to the extent possible without incurring additional delay or expense. Public hearing: FRA anticipates being able to resolve this rulemaking without a public hearing. However, if FRA receives a specific request for a public hearing prior to September 23, 2015, one will be scheduled, and FRA will publish a supplemental notice in the Federal Register to inform interested parties of the date, time, and specific location of any such hearing.
