Article 317: Penal Code of the Dominican Republic, Abortion
Article 317 states that causing or directly aiding in causing an abortion, by any means, is punishable by two to five years in prison. This includes women who undergo an abortion, provided that the abortion is successful.
El artículo 317 provee que cualquier persona que cause o ayude directamente a causar un aborto, por cualquier medio, es castigada con dos a cinco años de prisión, incluidas las mujeres que se someten a un aborto, siempre que el aborto sea exitoso.
