13 AAC 63.010 - Scientific director
(a) The commissioner will designate the
director, or another employee, of the Scientific Crime Detection Laboratory as
the scientific director of the breath and blood alcohol testing program. The
scientific director must hold at least a bachelor's degree, with a major in
chemistry or a physical science field. In addition, the scientific director
must have specialized knowledge in the field of forensic alcohol
testing.
(b) The scientific
director is responsible for all aspects of the statewide breath and blood
alcohol testing program, including the certification of breath test
instruments, operators, and supervisors, and for implementing and safeguarding
the scientific integrity of the breath and blood alcohol testing
program.
