(a)
Visibility special protection areas are established to prevent impairment of
visibility. The following areas are designated visibility special protection
areas:
(1) Denali and the Alaska Range East,
as viewed from approximately the Savage River Campground area;
(2) Denali, Alaska Range, and the Interior
Lowlands, as viewed from the vicinity of Wonder Lake;
(4) the Regional Haze Visibility Protection
Area, which is the area identified in Volume II Section IILK.13.H. of the State
Air Quality Control Plan, adopted by reference in
18 AAC 50.030.
(b) A wood smoke control area is a geographic
location where a wood-burning activity has resulted in two or more
discontinuous 24-hour periods when the ambient exposures of PM-10 solely from
this activity have reached or exceeded 150 micrograms per cubic meter of air.
The Mendenhall Valley area of Juneau is designated a wood smoke control
area.
(c) Repealed
(d) Three air quality control zones are
established within the Fairbanks and North Pole urban nonattainrnent area to
establish control measures for reduction of PM-2.5. The three air quality
control zones are described in the local air quality plan incorporated in the
State Air Quality Control Plan, adopted by reference in
18 AAC 50.030, as the:
(1) North Pole Control Zone;
(2) Fairbanks Control Zone; and
(3) Goldstream Control Zone.
