7 AAC 05.080 - Local registrars
District magistrates and deputy magistrates shall serve as local registrars of vital statistics whenever possible. When this is not feasible, or when no magistrate is located within an established registration district, the State Registrar shall appoint a local registrar of vital statistics for such registration district. Such appointments may utilize other local government officials where such utilization may logically have a mutual benefit to both state and local governments.
