7 AAC 48.005 - Purpose

The catastrophic illness program provides financial assistance to cover the cost of unpaid medical bills that would otherwise result in an economic catastrophe to a person who suffers an illness or injury or his family. The catastrophic illness program is a last-resort payor, providing coverage after all other third-party resources have been exhausted.
