Ariz. Admin. Code § R12-5-2216 - Abandonment - Other Uses
As provided for in A.R.S. § 27-667(C) any well drilled for geothermal resource which has penetrated fresh water zones may be disposed of as a fresh water well subject to the following conditions:
1. State's lessee must file written request
for such use with the Department.
2. Condition of the hole must be such that
plugging back to fresh water zone can be safely accomplished.
3. Must meet the requirements of the rules
and regulations of the Department pertaining to such use.
4. Must meet the requirements of the
Commission's rules and regulations pertaining to disposal of
groundwater.
