Ariz. Admin. Code § R17-4-302 - Staggered Registration for Apportioned Commercial Vehicles
Apportioned commercial vehicle fleet registration periods. The Division shall assign a registration period to a newly registered apportioned commercial vehicle fleet. The fleet owner and the Director shall mutually agree to the registration period and expiration date.
1. The Division shall:
a. Establish a registration period that
expires on the last day of the calendar quarter selected by the fleet owner,
not to exceed 12 months from the initial registration date.
b. Apply the original fleet registration fees
towards the registration fees required for a replaced vehicle when an owner
replaces a vehicle within a fleet.
c. Apply the original fleet registration fees
towards the registration fees required for a transferred vehicle when an owner
transfers a vehicle between fleets.
d. Refund any excess credit of registration
fees in accordance with the provisions prescribed under A.R.S. §
28-2356.
2. The owner of an apportioned commercial
fleet vehicle shall:
a. Ensure that all
vehicles within a fleet have the same registration period.
b. Ensure that the fleet vehicle is not
operated with an expired vehicle registration.
c. Maintain the assigned or selected
registration period for at least three consecutive registration
periods.
3. The Division
shall not provide a grace period for late registration or late payment of
fees.
