Ariz. Admin. Code § R19-2-515 - Closing of Wagering in a Contest
A. A Department representative shall close
wagering for each contest. After wagering is closed, no pari-mutuel tickets
shall be sold for that contest.
B.
The racetrack permittee shall maintain, in good order, a system approved by the
Department for closing wagering.
1. If the
totalisator fails mechanically and become unreliable as to the amounts wagered,
all money wagered on the contest shall be refunded.
2. If a breakdown of the totalisator cannot
be repaired during wagering on a contest, the wagering for that contest shall
be declared closed. The payoff for a race closed because of totalisator
breakdown shall be computed on the sums wagered in each pool before the
breakdown
