Ariz. Admin. Code § R2-5A-302 - Recruitment
A. Job posting.
1. Unless exempted by A.R.S. Title 41,
Chapter 4, Article 4, an appointing authority shall post an open position to
the state's centralized job board. This includes recruitments open to only
employees currently employed by the agency, to state employees currently
employed in any state agency, or the general public. An agency head may
authorize an exception to the job posting requirement for a position in an
individual case. Any exceptions shall be documented by the agency head and
subject to audit by the Director.
2. In addition to posting to the state's
centralized job board, an appointing authority may post an open position in a
publication or to a commercial job posting board or both, in compliance with
applicable procurement rules.
B. Application form.
1. A candidate for a position shall complete
the standardized application form developed by the Director.
2. In addition to the standardized
application form, an agency head may develop supplemental application
procedures and forms specific to the agency or to a certain class or classes
within the agency.
C.
Preferences.
1. The state will provide
preference to qualified veterans and disabled veterans seeking employment with
the state.
2. For positions in the
covered service, preference points authorized by A.R.S. §
38-492
shall be added to an applicant's grade on any assessment or evaluation that
results in a numeric grade after the final grade is determined, if a passing
grade is earned without the addition of preference points. Preference points
shall not be applied to promotional examinations. If an evaluation does not
result in a numeric grade, preference shall be given by granting applicable
preference codes to qualified applicants.
