Ariz. Admin. Code § R4-39-111 - Honorary Degrees
A. Only
a currently licensed, accredited private degree-granting institution may apply
to award an honorary degree. Before offering to grant or granting an honorary
degree, a currently licensed, accredited private degree-granting institution
shall submit an application for a supplemental license for an honorary degree
to the Board for the Board's verification, review, and administrative
action.
B. The Board shall approve
the application for a supplemental license for an honorary degree if the
honorary degree is consistent with the institution's currently offered
degree-granting programs.
C. An
accredited private degree-granting institution whose application for a
supplemental license for an honorary degree is approved shall ensure that the
honorary degree identifies in its title or name and bears on its face that it
is an honorary degree.
