Ariz. Admin. Code § R7-6-249 - Physical Education and Comprehensive Health Program Facilities
A. A school
facility shall have classroom square footage for indoor physical education
activity and a comprehensive health program established in compliance with the
academic standards prescribed by the State Board of Education.
B. The indoor classroom square footage
available for physical education activity shall be:
1. For a school facility designed to serve no
more than 50 students: at least 1,600 square feet in a single space;
2. For a school facility designed to serve 51
to 125 students: at least 2,600 square feet in a single space;
3. For a school facility designed to serve
126 to 600 students: at least 5,100 square feet, of which at least 2,600 square
feet is in a single space; and
4.
For a school facility designed to serve more than 600 students: at least 7,500
square feet, which may include space that also serves as a cafeteria.
C. The classroom square footage
designated in subsection (B) may have more than one function including the
comprehensive health program.
