Ariz. Admin. Code § R9-10-1513 - Environmental and Safety Standards
A licensee shall ensure that:
1. The premises:
a. Provide lighting and ventilation to ensure
the health and safety of a patient,
b. Are maintained in a clean
condition,
c. Are free from a
condition or situation that may cause a patient to suffer physical
injury,
d. Are maintained free from
insects and vermin, and
e. Are
smoke-free;
2. A warning
notice is placed at the entrance to a room or area where oxygen is in
use;
3. Soiled linen and clothing
are kept:
a. In a covered container,
and
b. Separate from clean linen
and clothing;
4.
Personnel wash hands after each direct patient contact and after handling
soiled linen, soiled clothing, or biohazardous medical waste;
5. A written emergency plan is established,
documented, and implemented that includes procedures for protecting the health
and safety of patients and other individuals in a fire, natural disaster, loss
of electrical power, or threat or incidence of violence;
6. An evacuation drill is conducted at least
once every six months that includes all personnel on the premises on the day of
the evacuation drill; and
7.
Documentation of the evacuation drill is maintained on the premises for at
least one year after the date of the evacuation drill and includes:
a. The date and time of the evacuation drill,
and
b. The names of personnel
participating in the evacuation drill.
