Ariz. Admin. Code § R9-10-314 - Physical Health Services
A. An
administrator shall ensure that:
1. Medical
services are provided under the direction of a physician or registered nurse
practitioner;
2. Nursing services
are provided:
a. Under the direction of a
registered nurse,
b. According to
an acuity plan developed for the behavioral health inpatient facility,
and
c. To meet the needs of a
patient based on the patient's acuity; and
3. If a behavioral health inpatient facility
is authorized to provide:
a. Clinical
laboratory services, as defined in
R9-10-101, the behavioral health
inpatient facility complies with the requirements for clinical laboratory
services in
R9-10-219 ; or
b. Radiology services or diagnostic imaging
services, the behavioral health inpatient facility complies with the
requirements in
R9-10-220.
B. An administrator shall ensure
that, if a patient requires immediate medical services to ensure the patient's
health and safety that the behavioral health inpatient facility is not
authorized or not able to provide, a personnel member arranges for the patient
to be transported to a hospital, another health care institution, or a health
care provider where the medical services can be provided.
