Ariz. Admin. Code § R9-7-1128 - Operating and Emergency Procedures
A. A registrant shall have operating and
emergency procedures that include, at minimum, instructions in the following,
as applicable:
1. Use of radiation machines,
so that persons are not exposed to radiation that exceeds the limits in Article
4 of this Chapter;
2. Methods and
occasions for conducting radiation surveys;
3. Methods for controlling access to
radiographic areas;
4. Methods and
occasions for locking and securing a radiation machine;
5. Personnel monitoring and associated
equipment;
6. Inspection,
maintenance, and operability checks of a radiation machine and survey
instruments;
7. Actions to be taken
immediately by radiography personnel if a pocket dosimeter is found to be
off-scale or an alarm rate meter sounds an alarm;
8. Procedures for identifying and reporting
defects and non-compliance, as required by
R9-7-448;
9. The procedure for notifying the RSO and
the Department in the event of an accident;
10. Minimizing exposure of persons in the
event of an accident, and
11.
Maintenance of records.
B. The registrant shall maintain copies of
current operating and emergency procedures until the Department terminates the
registration. Superseded procedures shall be maintained for three years after a
change is made. Additionally, records shall be maintained in accordance with
R9-7-1138.
