15.15 SCIENTIFIC COLLECTION PERMIT REQUIREMENTS. It shall be 04-02 unlawful for persons engaged in scientific studies to take protected species of fish or wildlife without first applying for, on a form provided by the Commission, and obtaining a scientific collection permit from the Commission Director or his designee and said wildlife species must be taken as specified in permit.

EXCEPTION:

(1) Commission employees taking fish or wildlife for scientific purposes in performance of their duties.

PENALTY: $100.00 to $1,000.00.

15.16 NATIVE WILDLIFE PET RESTRICTIONS. It shall be unlawful to take or 11-00 attempt to take by any method other than by hands and possess alive any native wildlife species other than six (6) each of the animals specified herein per household, and the sale, purchase, barter, or transporting of such animals from the state or the progeny thereof is prohibited.

(A) Bobcat, coyote, deer, gray fox, red fox, opossum, quail, rabbit, raccoon and squirrel.

(B) Any native nongame wildlife excluding birds, bats, alligator snapping turtles, ornate box turtles, hellbenders, troglodytic (cave-dwelling) species or those animals defined as endangered species.

EXCEPTION:

(1) Wildlife exchanged with other states by the Commission.

PENALTY: $100.00 to $1,000.00.

15.17 WILDLIFE TRANSLOCATION PERMIT REQUIREMENT. A translocation 11.00 permit, authorized by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, shall be required to transport wildlife into or through the state of Arkansas. In order to receive a translocation permit, the owner of such wildlife must submit to the Commission written proof of the origin and destination of each animal and that each animal has been certified by an accredited veterinarian to be free of diseases/parasites that may pose adverse risk to native wildlife and complies with all applicable health requirements for wild animals adopted by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission.

PENALTY: $100.00 to $1,000.00
