21.02
PERMIT REQUIREMENTS ON CERTAIN WMAs and WDAs. It shall be
unlawful to take or attempt to take deer during permit hunts on certain WMAs
and WDAs without first obtaining the required permit, fail to follow the
instructions on said permits or to fail to check in and out on WMAs as
specified herein:
(A)
Gun and
Muzzleloader: BAYOU METO, BOIS D'ARC, CAMP ROBINSON WMA, CUT-OFF CREEK,
DAGMAR, ED GORDON/POINT REMOVE WMA, FELSENTHAL NWR, FT. CHAFFEE, LAKE GREESON,
GULF MOUNTAIN, HAROLD E. ALEXANDER/ SPRING RIVER, HENRY GRAY/HURRICANE LAKE,
HOBBS SMA, HOWARD COUNTY, MADISON COUNTY, REX HANCOCK/BLACK SWAMP, SYLAMORE
(doe only), U of A PINE TREE EXPERIMENTAL STATION WDA and WATTENSAW
WMAs.
(B)
Gun only:
CAMP ROBINSON WDA, J. PERRY MIKLES/BLUE MOUNTAIN WDA, LAFAYETTE COUNTY
WMA.
(C)
Muzzleloader only:
DAVE DONALDSON/BLACK RIVER, HOLLAND BOTTOMS, JOHNSON COUNTY WRA
(mobility impaired hunt) within DARDANELLE WMA, GREERS FERRY LAKE WMA (mobility
impaired hunt) LITTLE BAYOU, SHIREY BAY/RAINEY BRAKE and TRUSTEN HOLDER
WMAs.
(D)
Archery
only: That part of TRUSTEN HOLDER north of the Arkansas River and north
of Arkansas Post Canal between the Pendleton Bridge and Merrisach Lake Park
(including land and waters of Moore Bayou, Post Bayou, Merrisach Lake and the
Arkansas Post Canal) will be archery only for permit holders.
(E)
Youth only: HOPE UPLAND WMA,
J. PERRY MIKLES/BLUE MOUNTAIN WDA and ST. FRANCIS NATIONAL FOREST
WMA.
(F)
A lease land permit
is required for persons 16 years and older to camp, hunt or trap any
type of wildlife on BIG TIMBER, CASEY JONES, CHEROKEE, GUM FLATS, LAFAYETTE
COUNTY (except no permit is required to camp on Lafayette County) and PROVO
LEASED LANDS WMAs. A Cherokee WMA Lease Land permit is also required for the
operation of motorcycles, bicycles, ATVs and horseback riding from October
1-February 28 and during Spring Turkey seasons in Spring Turkey Zones 2, 6 and
7 on CHEROKEE and JIM KRESS WMAs, except on state or county roads.
(G)
Crossett Experimental Forest WMA:
Permit is required to hunt or trap.
(H)
U of A Pine Tree Experimental
Station WDA: A permit is required for any person who pursues, hunts, or
traps any type of wildlife.
PENALTY: $100.00 to $1,000.00.
