002.00.09 Ark. Code R. § 014 - 2010 Fishing Regulations - Allowing trotlines in Designated Areas of Lake Maumelle
Allow trotlines in designated areas in Lake Maumelle
Lake Maumelle is an 8,900 acre impoundment of the Big Maumelle River, and is the principle water supply lake for Central Arkansas. Lake Maumelle is managed under the authority of Central Arkansas Water (CAW), a public utility company. Because of some concern from anglers, CAW and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) have teamed up to conduct activities aimed at improving the fishery. Among a variety of improvements that will occur, CAW and AGFC have agreed to open the lake to trotlining in the western two thirds of the lake, in CAW designated areas. Below is the proposed recommended code book language.
