Hunting and Migratory Waterfowl

Regulations Within WMA's

25.01 MIGRATORY WATERFOWL SHOOTING

HOUR RESTRICTIONS WITHIN CERTAIN

WMA'S. It shall be unlawful to take or attempt to take migratory waterfowl during migratory waterfowl seasons later than 12:00 o'clock noon within WMA's as specified herein: Bayou DeView WMA, Upper ValHer School Impoundment and Temple Island Greentree Impoundment on Bayou Meto WMA, Big Lake WMA, Bois d'Arc WMA, BeU Slough (Grassy Lake) on Camp Robinson WMA, Cut-Off Creek WMA, Dagmar WMA, Little River Island on Dave Donaldson/Black River WMA, Mendenhall Swamp on Ft. Chaffee WMA, GaUa Creek WMA, Harris Brake WMA, south and west of Glaise Creek road from Mitchell Comer to Whirl Lake to Honey Lake Dam on Little Red River on Hurricane Lake WMA, Nimrod WMA, east of Highway 7, including Pullen Pond on Petit Jean WMA, Rex Hancock/Black Swamp WMA, north of New Cut Road on Shirey Bay-Rainey Brake WMA and Sulphur River WMA. i

EXCEPTIONS:

(1) Migratory waterfowl hunting permitted during the entire day (regular shooting hours) of the last three (3) days of the last migratory waterfowl season. Ref: Commission Code 12.13.

(2) Temple Island within Bayou Meto WMA closed to all types of hunting, except waterfowl during waterfowl seasons.

PENALTY: $50.00 to $300.00.

25.02 HUNTING OR TRESPASSING PROHIBITED

WITHIN MIGRATORY WATERFOWL REST

AREAS. It shall be unlawful to hunt or trespass thirty (30) days prior to and during migratory waterfowl seasons on migratory waterfowl rest areas as specified herein:

Lake Hogue, Upper Lake Hogue and rest area in Sections 2 and 11, TUN, RIE on Bayou De-View WMA, Halowell Reservoir and the Wrape Plantation Waterfowl Rest and Research Area on Bayou Meto WMA, Apple Club Lake on Dagmar WMA, Waterfowl Rest Area (Section 21, TUN, R3E, south of Black River) and Hubble Lake on Dave Donaldson/Black River WMA. EXCEPTIONS:

(1) Migratory waterfowl hunting permitted during the entire day (regular shooting hours) the last three (3) days of the last migratory waterfowl season. Ref: Commission Code 12.13.

(2) Migratory waterfowl hunting permitted (by special permit only) until 12:00 o'clock noon the last three (3) days of each migratory waterfowl season on Halowell Reservoir within Bayou Meto WMA. Ref: Commission Code 12.13.

PENALTY: S50.00 to S300.00.

25.03 HUNTING PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN LAKES AND MIGRATORY WATERFOWL

REST AREAS. It shall be unlawful to hunt on lakes and Migratory Waterfowl Rest Areas specified herein-. Lake Ashbaugh in Greene County, Lake Conway in Faulkner County, Cypress Creek in Conway County, Mallard Lake in Mississippi County, or to trespass on Henry C. Moore Waterfowl Rest Area on Sulphur River WMA during waterfowl seasons. PENALTY: SI00.00 to $500.00.

25.04 MIGRATORY WATERFOWL HUNTING PRO-HIBITED WITHIN CERTAIN WMA'S. It shall be unlawful to fake or attempt to take migratory waterfowl within WMA's as specified herein;

Simmons Field Rest Area in Big Lake WMA, Bois d'Arc Lake in Bois d'Arc WMA, Camp Robinson Wildlife Demonstration Area, Harris Brake Lake in Harris Brake WMA, Lick Creek Area of Lake Erling (lake portion west of 41 road) in Lafayette County WMA and Waterfowl Rest Area in Sections 7 and 8, T13N, R2W in Shirey Bay-Rainey Brake WMA. EXCEPTION:

(1) Migratory waterfowl hunting permitted during regular shooting hours of the last three (3) days of the last migratory waterfowl season on Bois d'Arc Lake, Harris Brake Lake, Lick Creek area of Lake Erling and Waterfowl Rest Area in Sections 7 and 8, T13N, R2W in Shirey Bay-Rainey Brake WMA. PENALTY: $100.00 to S500.00.

25.05 TRESPASSING AND HUNTING PROHIBITED WITHIN CERTAIN WMA'S. It shaU be unlawful

to trespass or hunt thirty (30) days prior to and during migratory waterfowl seasons within migratory waterfowl rest areas as specified herein:

Wrape Plantation Waterfowl Rest Area on Bayou Meto WMA, Simmons Field Rest Area on the Big Lake WMA and Pigeon Creek Waterfowl Rest Area (Section 30, 31, 32, T14S, R4W) on Cut-Off Creek WMA. PENALTY: $50.00 to $300.00.

25.06 COMMERCIAL WATERFOWL GUIDE PER- MIT REQUIREMENTS ON WMA's. It shall be unlawful to guide, aid or assist another person or party for pay or other consideration in taking or attempting to take migratory waterfowl within WMA's without first obtaining a Commercial Waterfowl Guide Permit at a cost of SI00.00 and registering with WMA personnel in charge of registration. PENALTY: S200.00 to S500.00.

25.07 SHOT RESTRICTIONS FOR MIGRATORY WATERFOWL HUNTING WITHIN HALO-WELL RESERVOIR OF BAYOU METO WMA. It shall be unlawful to possess more than twenty five (25) shotgun shells and to possess other than steel shot while waterfowl hunting on Halo-well Reservoir in Bayou Meto WMA. PENALTY; $25.00 to $250.00.

25.08 TRAVEL BY USE OF WATERCRAFT PRO- HIBITED ON PORTIONS OF CUT-OFF

CREEK WMA. It shall be unlawful to use any boat to travel on Firehunt Slough, Third Slough and Latin Drain within Cut-Off Creek WMA during migratory waterfowl seasons. PENALTY: $25.00 to $250.00.
