Commercial Driver's License Testing Rules

PURPOSE - Provide for the expiration of the application to allow the Department of Finance and Administration to cease tracking the applications that have been issued that are over on year old.

EXPLANATION - Amend the current commercial driver's license rule to provide for the expiration of the application form.

Rule 2.1 - The initial application for the CDL, which includes knowledge examination and skill testing shall be fifty dollars ($50); except as hereinafter set out.

Any CDL-1 application form purchased after the effective date of this rule shall expire one (1) year from the date of purchase.

Any CDL-1 application form purchased prior to the effective date of this rule shall expire one (1) year from the effective date of this rule.

Non- Commercial Driver's License Testing Rule

PURPOSE - To allow further study time for an unsuccessful candidate for a driver's license; which is intended to increase their pass rate and decrease the expenditure of resources by the Arkansas State Police for applicants that may re-test every business day.

EXPLANATION - Implement new Non-Commercial Driver's License Testing Rule.

Rule 1. In the event that a person does not successfully complete the knowledge portion of the test for an Arkansas Learner's Permit, Learner's License or Intermediate Driver's License, there shall be a five (5) calendar day waiting period before they will be allowed to re-test.
