132.00.06 Ark. Code R. § 001 - Rule 1025 - Retired Law Enforcement Officers' Right to Carry Weapons & Rule 1026 - State Standard for Firearms Training and Qualification

Regulation 1025: Retired law enforcement officers' right to carry weapons.

This regulation is enacted to implement Public Law 108-277 ( P.L. 108-277 ) to authorize retired law enforcement officers to carry a firearm nationwide without a permit if they satisfy the following requirements:

1. The officer is a retired law enforcement officer as defined in P. L. 108-277.
2. The officer carries a photographic identification from his or her former law enforcement agency as defined in P.L. 108-277.
3. During the most recent 12-month period, the officer has met, at his or her own expense, the state's standard for training and qualification of active law enforcement officers to carry firearms.
Regulation 1026: Arkansas State Standard for Firearms Training and Qualification.
1. The Arkansas State standard for training and qualification for active law enforcement officers to carry firearms shall be the Arkansas Law Enforcement Standards & Training Standard Course of Fire for one target.
2. All active law enforcement officers shall, annually, successfully complete a firearms training and qualification course that meets the Arkansas Law Enforcement Standards & Training Standard Course of Fire for one target.
