Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 25, § 7854 - Tenant Occupancy Standards
(a) The regulatory agreement between the
sponsor and the responsible agency shall require standards for occupancy of
assisted units. Included in such standards shall be the requirement that one
bedroom units shall be assigned ordinarily to single person households only
when there are no efficiency units available.
(b) The general standards for determination
of a tenant's unit size are as follows:

(c) Flexibility for assignment to a different
sized unit is permitted if special circumstances warrant such an assignment and
its reason are documented in the tenant's file.
