There is hereby created and established an advisory committee
of the Florida Citrus Commission designated as the "Fruit Classification and
Standards Committee, " consisting of nine members appointed by the chair,
subject to commission concurrence as follows:
(1) Three members shall be experienced in and
actively engaged in an executive capacity as an officer, employee, or owner of
a cooperative, firm, partnership or other business unit engaged in the business
of packing or otherwise preparing citrus fruit for market or shipment in fresh
form in this state.
(2) Two members
shall be experienced in and actively engaged in an executive capacity as an
officer, employee, or owner of a corporation, firm, partnership or other
business unit engaged in the business of producing processed citrus products in
this state.
(3) One member of the
Florida Citrus Commission, who shall be one of the six designated grower-only
members and not one of the three designated grower-handler members.
(4) One member who shall be an employee of
the U.S. Department of Agriculture, whose professional qualifications and work
experience are compatible with the assigned responsibility of this
Committee.
(5) One member who shall
be an employee of the Florida Department of Agriculture, whose professional
qualifications and work experience are compatible with the assigned
responsibility of this Committee.
(6) One member who shall be an employee of
the University of Florida Agricultural Research and Education Center, whose
professional qualifications and work experience are compatible with the
assigned responsibility of this Committee.
