Designation as a Protected Species - The snook, species Centropomus
undecimalis, is hereby declared and designated a protected
species.
(2) The snook, species
Centropomus undecimalis has been designated as a protected
species to increase public awareness of the need for extensive conservation
action in order to prevent this resource from becoming endangered; and to
encourage voluntary conservation practices, including catch-and-release
practices for all snook caught unless they are needed for
food.
