Fla. Admin. Code Ann. R. 69A-36.105 - Standards of the National Fire Protection Association Adopted
(1) The standards
of the National Fire Protection Association for life safety from fire, as
provided in NFPA 101, Life Safety Code, as adopted in rule
69A-3.012, F.A.C., and
incorporated herein by reference shall be the Uniform Fire Safety Standards for
Nonresidential Child Care Facilities, except as modified herein.
(a) New child care facilities caring for not
more than 12 children, inclusively, shall meet the requirements of Sections
16.1, (excluding 16.1.6, which shall not apply), 16.4, 16.5, 16.6, and 16.7 of
NFPA 101.
(b) New child care
facilities caring for more than 12 children shall meet the requirements of
Sections 16-1 through 16-5 and 16-7 of NFPA 101.
(c) Existing child care facilities caring for
6 to 12 children, inclusively, shall meet the requirements Sections 17-1
(excluding 17-1.6), 17-4, 17-5, 17-6, and 17-7 of NFPA 101.
(d) Existing child care facilities caring for
more than 12 children shall meet the requirements of 17-1 through 17-5 and 17-7
of NFPA 101.
(2) Portable
fire extinguishers. The selection, placement, distribution, maintenance and
servicing of portable fire extinguishers shall comply with NFPA 10 as adopted
by chapter 69A-3, F.A.C., and with the provisions of chapter 69A-21, F.A.C.,
except that the minimum rating of any extinguisher installed in a child care
facility shall not be less than 2A-10B:C.
