Fla. Admin. Code Ann. R. 69A-37.034 - High School Education Requirement
(1) Pursuant to section
633.408(4),
F.S., the high school education requirement of section
633.412(1),
F.S., must be met prior to receiving a certificate of compliance as a
firefighter.
(2) The Division of
State Fire Marshal, Bureau of Fire Standards and Training shall consider a high
school diploma or transcript evidencing graduation from an accredited private
or public school as proof of high school education.
(3) The Bureau of Fire Standards and Training
shall consider successful completion of the General Educational Development
(G.E.D.) test, including United States Armed Forces Institute (U.S.A.F.I.)
tests, to be the equivalent of a high school diploma.
(4) In the absence of proof of successful
high school completion or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) test, the
Bureau of Fire Standards and Training will recognize an associate degree or
transcript showing verification of successful completion of two years of
college work from any state accredited institution as satisfying this
requirement.
(5) High school
completion certificates or certificates of attendance will not be recognized by
the Bureau of Fire Standards and Training as meeting the requirements of a high
school diploma under this rule.
(6)
In addition to a high school diploma, or its equivalent, applicants shall
supply proof of age to the Bureau of Fire Standards and Training in the form of
a birth certificate , driver's license or other official
identification.
