(1)
Local building code inspectors are authorized to make inspections of
manufactured and mobile home installations to ensure compliance with O.C.G.A.
§
8-2-160
et seq.
and the Rules and Regulations promulgated thereunder. No political subdivision
may adopt or enforce any requirement not consistent with these Rules and
Regulations.
(2) The authorized
representatives of the Commissioner shall perform any inspections necessary to
ensure compliance with O.C.G.A. §
8-2-160
et seq.
The Commissioner or his or her specially appointed designee is the final
authority on the correctness of the installation as prescribed in O.C.G.A.
§
8-2-160
et seq.
and the Rules and Regulations promulgated thereunder.
(3) The Commissioner or Commissioner's
designee shall perform random inspections on installations performed by each
installer each year. If the Commissioner or designee finds violations of the
Code or any Order, Directive, Bulletin, or Rule during the inspection, future
inspections may be performed to ensure compliance therewith. If violations
persist following an inspection, the Commissioner or Commissioner's designee
may require the Installer to notify the Manufactured Housing Section of the
Safety Fire Division of any future installations to be performed and require
the Commissioner or Commissioner's designee to monitor any future installations
until the violations are cured. The inspections required by this section shall
be independent of any requirements under subpart I of Part 3282 of the
Manufactured Home Procedural and Enforcement Regulations of the National
Manufactured Housing Construction and Safety Standards Act of 1974,
42 U.S.C. §
5401
et seq.

Section 5401 et seq.
