Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. R. 160-1-4-.321 - International Baccalaureate (IB) Exam Fee Initiative Grant
1.
Purpose of Grant. The purpose
of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Exam Fee Initiative Grant is to support
local educational agencies (LEA) that have IB programs in one or more of their
high schools by providing funds to offset the cost associated with IB exams.
Funding for this grant shall be used to reduce the financial obligation of LEAs
for the fees associated with IB exams by partially funding the IB exam cost for
students who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals and for IB STEM exams
taken by any student.
2.
Term
and Conditions. Grants are awarded to LEAs who submit a completed
application and have IB programs in one or more high schools. Awardees must use
grant funds to partially offset their IB exam fees for students who are
eligible for free or reduced-price meals and for IB STEM exams taken by any
student. Grant funds may not be used for cancelled IB exams, unused IB exam
fees, late-order IB fees, and make-up IB exam fees. Awardees will produce a
report at the conclusion of the grant period.
3.
Eligible Recipient(s).
Eligible recipients include LEAs that have IB programs in their high
schools.
4.
Criteria for
Award. Applications are reviewed by the Georgia Department of Education
for adherence to the terms and conditions described in the application. Grant
awards will be based on the projected number of IB exams taken by students who
are eligible for free or reduced-price meals and the projected number of IB
STEM exams for the current school year.
Priority will be given to LEAs that have IB programs in high schools that have been identified as Tier IV, Comprehensive Support and Improvement, Additional Targeted Support and Improvement, or Targeted Support and Improvement. Grant funding for the LEAs with IB programs in identified schools will be higher per student.
