Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. R. 160-1-4-.322 - Student Vaping Mini Grant

Purpose of Grant Program. The
purpose of the Student Vaping Mini Grant is to support middle and high schools
by providing funding for localized interventions to decrease the incidence of
vaping by students in Georgia.
2.
Terms and Conditions. This competitive grant is awarded to Georgia
local educational agencies (LEA). Recipients must use the awarded grant funds
to address student vaping in middle and high schools, deliver Know Your
Risks: A Youth Guide to E-Cigarettes to students, implement the
Live Vape Free program as an intervention for students who
have received disciplinary infractions for vaping, and review and update, if
needed, its tobacco-free policy. Recipients must also provide aggregate data
regarding the delivery of the Live Vape Free program and
submit a completion report at the end of the grant period or upon full
liquidation of funds, whichever is sooner.

Eligible Recipients. All
Georgia LEAs are eligible to receive this grant.

Criteria for Award.
Applications will be scored using a GaDOE grants scoring tool. Applications
will be ranked from highest to lowest based on the total number of student
discipline infractions related to vaping from the most recent completed school
year, then scored based on the following open-ended questions: description of
intended use of funds; description of intended delivery of Know Your
Risks: A Youth Guide to E-Cigarettes for students; description of
intended delivery of the Live Vape Free program as an
intervention for students who have received disciplinary infractions for
vaping; and description of how funds are intended to decrease the amount of
vaping-related discipline incidents. Funding will be awarded based on rank
(highest score first) and available funding.

Applying. Eligible applicants must complete and submit the electronic
application by the deadline located online at the GaDOE Grant Opportunities
