Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. R. 160-1-4-.323 - Rural Teaching Apprenticeship Grant
1.
Purpose of Grant Program. The purpose of the Rural Teaching
Apprenticeship Grant is to support the development and expansion of registered
teaching apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeships in rural Georgia by providing
funding for the instruction, mentorship, and supportive services needed to
create and sustain a registered teaching apprenticeship program. The creation
of registered teaching apprenticeship programs will address educator shortages
by filling teacher pipelines through a new pathway to become an
educator.
2.
Terms and
Conditions. Eligible LEAs interested in this competitive grant must
submit an application. Grant funds must be used to develop or expand in rural
Georgia pre-apprenticeship programs or registered teaching apprenticeship
programs under the Georgia Department of Education's (GaDOE) Registered
Teaching Apprenticeship Program (GaRTAP). To that end, grant funds must be used
for costs associated with designing and implementing GaRTAP, costs associated
with pre-apprenticeship programs, or extraordinary costs of on-the-job

a Profession and Early Childhood Care & Education pathways in rural high
schools. Additionally, grant recipients have reporting requirements. Grant

Report in GaDOE's Grants Accounting Online Reimbursement System, and annually
provide a report that details the expenditures per apprentice.
