(1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) any
person wishing to practice architecture in this State under the title of
"Architect" shall, before being presented or known as an Architect and before
undertaking in any manner to practice architecture in this State, shall make
application to the State Board of Architects and Interior Designers and, upon
being found qualified by the Board, secure there from a certificate of
qualification to practice under the title "Architect" and be duly registered.
Application forms may be acquired from the Division Director and each applicant
shall be required to certify thereon that he has read and studied the
Law.
(2) Nothing in this section
shall disallow an architect, who is duly licensed to practice architecture in a
state other than Georgia or another country and who also holds an NCARB
certificate, from offering architectural services in response to a request for
qualifications, during an interview, or through a design competition. Any
offering or practice beyond this exception requires registration as a Georgia
Architect.
