Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. R. 672-12-.09 - Airport Approach Aid Program
(1)
Scope and Purpose. Airport
projects that aid aircraft in their approach path to a landing area.
(2)
Terms and Conditions.
Provides up to 75% State funding assistance for construction and engineering
costs. Airport Sponsors can use local funds or in-kind services, based on
requirements and approval of the Aviation Program, towards the matching
share.
(3)
Eligible
Recipients. Publicly owned, Open-To-The-Public Airports, with the
exception of Medium and Large hub commercial service airports.
(4)
Criteria for Award. Projects
are reviewed for eligibility per the Aviation Program Policy and Standards
Guide and selected based on justification and available funding.
(5)
Directions and Deadlines.
Applications can be submitted at any time, however, applications for State
funds should be received by the Georgia Department of Transportation Aviation
Program Office during its annual call for project applications and 5-year
capital improvement program update, typically November each year, for
consideration for funding in the following fiscal year. Applications received
outside the annual call will be reviewed but project funding is not
guaranteed.
