Haw. Code R. § 11-100.1-83 - Personnel and staffing requirements
In addition to the requirements in subchapter 2 and 3:
(1) A registered nurse other than
the licensee or primary care giver shall train and monitor primary care givers
and substitutes in providing daily personal and specialized care to residents
as needed to implement their care plan;
(2) The licensee of a Type I expanded ARCH
shall provide a primary care giver who shall:
(A) Reside in the expanded ARCH or employ or
otherwise engage by contract a qualified primary care giver in those homes in
which the licensee does not reside; and
(B) Be a nurse aide or licensed
nurse.
(3) The licensee
of a Type II expanded ARCH shall provide primary care givers who shall be at
least a nurse aide or licensed nurse who may reside in the expanded
ARCH;
(4) A substitute care giver
who is trained by the primary care giver with the assistance of the registered
nurse or case manager and meets the requirements as set forth in section
11-100.1-9, shall take charge of an expanded ARCH during an expanded ARCH
primary care giver's absence or inability to perform regular duties;
and
(5) Primary and substitute care
givers shall have documented evidence of successful completion of twelve hours
of continuing education courses per year on subjects pertinent to the
management of an expanded ARCH and care of expanded ABCH residents.
