Haw. Code R. § 11-175-43 - Right to a written treatment plan
(a) Psychiatric
facilities and residential treatment facilities shall provide each consumer
with;
(1) An initial treatment plan before
treatment begins and no later than 24 hours after admission;
(2) A comprehensive treatment plan if the
consumer's stay in a psychiatric facility exceeds 10 days, or stay in a
residential treatment facility exceeds 30 days.
(b) Each review of an involuntary consumer's
comprehensive treatment plan shall include a determination about whether the
consumer continues to meet the criteria for involuntary hospitalization. If the
consumer does not meet the criteria, the consumer shall be discharged or
offered the opportunity to apply for voluntary hospitalization.
(c) When a consumer is receiving or has
received mental health or substance abuse treatment outside the facility, the
consumer shall be provided the opportunity to invite the provider of that
service to participate in developing the consumer's initial and comprehensive
treatment plans.
