Haw. Code R. § 11-185-4 - Computation of time

In computing any period of time prescribed or allowed by a rule of the agency, by an order of the agency, or by any applicable statute, the period of time begins with the day following the act, event, or default. The last day of the period shall be included unless it is a Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday, in which event the period runs until the next day which is not a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday. When the period of time prescribed or allowed is seven days or less, intermediate Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays shall be excluded in the computation. As used in this section, "holiday" means any day designated as such pursuant to section 8-1, Hawaii Revised Statutes.
