Haw. Code R. § 11-219-8 - Return of disability parking permits and identification cards
(a) The removable windshield placard,
temporary removable windshield placard, disabled paid parking exemption
permits, and identification cards are the property of the issuing agency and
shall be returned to the issuing agency:
(1)
Upon the death of the person with a disability; or
(2) When the person is no longer qualified
per section
291-51, HRS;
or
(3) When the removable
windshield placard, temporary removable windshield placards, or disabled paid
parking exemption permit expire.
(b) Special license plates shall be returned
to the county:
(1) Before the transfer of
ownership of a vehicle to another party. The transfer of ownership for a
vehicle shall not be recorded until the special license plates assigned to that
vehicle have been replaced or returned to the county;
(2) When the special license plates
expire;
(3) When the person no
longer meets section
291-51, HRS
requirements; or
(4) Upon death of
the permittee.
