Haw. Code R. § 11-37-20 - Laboratory requirements
(a) Tests required
by this subchapter shall be conducted by a laboratory facility that is
accredited to the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard, "General requirements for the
competence of testing and calibration laboratories," by an accreditation
organization recognized by the International Laboratory Accreditation
Cooperation (ILAC) Mutual Recognition Arrangement.
(b) The laboratory shall:
(1) Identify and use an appropriate,
scientifically valid method for each established specification for which
testing is required to determine whether the specification is met;
and
(2) Establish and follow
written standard operating procedures for the test methods conducted to
determine whether specifications are met.
(c) Laboratory reports of test results shall
include a certification by laboratory staff, completed at the time of
performance, that established laboratory methodology was followed and that the
samples tested met the laboratory's quality assurance standards.
