Haw. Code R. § 11-45-39 - Radiation protection programs

(a) Each licensee shall develop, document, and implement a radiation protection program sufficient to ensure compliance with the provisions of this subchapter and acceptable to the department.
(b) The licensee shall use, to the extent practicable, procedures and engineering controls based upon sound radiation protection principles to achieve occupational doses and doses to members of the public that are as low as is reasonably achievable (ALARA).
(c) The department shall specify the minimum requirements for the radiation protection program according to sources of radiation and type of radiation activity and facility.
(d) The licensee shall, at least annually, review the radiation protection program content and implementation.
